Home health care is a great alternative to extended hospital stays. Often times, hospitalized patients who elect home health care can be discharged early. The ability to stay in the home while the patient receives their care promotes a happier patient and more speedy recovery. Home health care is offered to those who are considered homebound, which can include the following:
  • Leaving the home takes a considerable or taxing effort
  • Having a present illness or injury restricting ability to leave the home without the use/presence of an assistive device
  • The conditions for which leaving the home is medically contraindicated
